Given the rising value of classic sports cars, many owners of rather tired cars are tempted by the idea of total or partial restoration. First – a warning: You will need deep pockets!
Every year Marque 21 accepts a limited number of ground-up restoration projects including strip-down, paint removal, de-rusting, mechanical rebuild using new or existing parts (where suitable) bespoke trimming and final road testing.
The problem for the owner of any classic sports car wanting to restore it is that usually problems don't reveal themselves until the project is quite advanced. At Marque 21, no restoration begins until a thorough investigation is undertaken (within the available limits). A price is agreed and work can begin, with customers receiving regular updates (including photographic records if required) of work done plus early warnings of potential problems. Restoration is an article of faith, often frustrating (!), always time consuming but ultimately totally rewarding.
